PREFECTS' BODY
The Prefects’ Body of St. Peter’s College, Colombo 04, Gampaha Branch, was established in 2006, with its first Head Prefect appointed in the year 2020. Under the guidance of various leaders, the Board has upheld the traditions and culture of the College throughout its growth.

PETERITE MEDIA
The College Media Unit, formed in 2012, initially covered key events like the Primary School foundation stone ceremony. It later expanded to a website, photo exhibitions, and music releases, adapting during the pandemic with virtual lessons and events, while continuing to document important College milestones.

THE COLLEGE BRASS BAND
Founded in 2016, the College’s Western Band nurtures student talent while adding vibrancy to the school’s cultural life. Since its debut at the 2017 Sports Meet, the Band has performed annually at St. Jude’s Shrine, Idigolla. Guided by Mr. Kelum Nishyantha and Ms. Vasana Wijesena, and led by dedicated student leaders, it continues to stand as a valued cultural asset of the College.

COLLEGE CHOIR

The Choir of St. Peter’s College, Colombo 04, Gampaha Branch, founded in 2011, plays a vital role in the school’s cultural life. Under the direction of Ms. Vasana Wijesena, the Choir not only contributes to major College functions but also annually presents a Carol Service that has become a much-anticipated tradition. Over the years, it has also represented the College at various competitions, showcasing the musical talent and dedication of its members.

ORIENTAL CADET BAND

The Oriental Band of the College, established in 1996, has significantly contributed to events like the Annual Inter-House Athletic Meet, Independence Day Celebrations, and the Marian Feast. Guided by various trainers and teachers in charge over the years, the Band continues to enhance the College’s cultural events and celebrations.

THE ORIENTAL ORCHESTRA

The Oriental Orchestra of our College stand as a vibrant symbol of musical excellence, where young Peterites refine their talents in voice and instrument under expert guidance. With harmonious expression and dedicated artistry, they continue to enrich the cultural life of the College, inspiring peers and uplifting every occasion with their unique blend of tradition and creativity.

PETERITE CADET PLATOON

The Peterite Cadet Platoon, founded under Rev. Fr. Lakmin Prasanga Silva, has excelled in fostering discipline and personal growth. With the motto “NUNQUAM NON PARATUS,” it has participated in key events like the Battalion Camp at Rantambe and transitioned to a Defence Cadet Platoon in 2021, demonstrating continuous growth and leadership.

SINHALA LITERARY ASSOCIATION

Established in 1994, the Sinhala Literary Association at St. Peter’s College, Gampaha, has fostered students’ literary and artistic talents. Led by Mrs. Anusha Cooray since 1997, it introduced the ‘Pahasara’ art festival and organized various competitions. The association has provided a platform for students to showcase their creativity. Thanks to Mrs. Cooray and the committee for their ongoing dedication.

THE COLLEGE DEBATING TEAM

The Debating Team of St. Peter’s College, Gampaha, founded in 2022, has quickly grown under the leadership of Master Aloka Anthony and Master Chamidu Amarasinghe. Early successes include a runner-up finish at the Bandaranayake Memorial Debate and a championship at “The Debater” competition in 2023. The team continues to thrive, showcasing strong intellectual engagement and discourse.

ENGLISH LITERARY ASSOCIATION

The English Literary Association, established in 2013, provides students with opportunities to enhance their language skills through discussions, debates, and presentations. It focuses on improving communication skills, fostering personal development, and promoting cultural understanding. Organized into groups by grade levels, the association supports students’ growth in language and communication.

ORIENTAL DANCING TROUPE

The College Oriental Dancing Troupe, under the guidance of dedicated teachers like Mr. Sunil Muthunayake, Mr. Ranjan Ahugoda, Mr. Sumathipala, Mr. Bodhipaksha, Mrs. Priyangika Priyadarshani, and Mrs. Shanika Jansze, plays a key role in preserving and showcasing cultural traditions, bringing honor to the College.

ST. ALOYSIUS ALTAR SERVERS’ ASSOCIATION

The St. Aloysius Altar Servers’ Association, established in 1993 under Mrs. Deepika Peiris’ guidance, has 17 dedicated members from Grade 5 to Grade 12. They serve with devotion at daily Holy Masses, and some former members have gone on to become Priests. I extend my thanks to Mr. Asela Dassanayake, the Master in charge, and all Altar Servers for their commitment to serving in the College’s liturgical services.

COMMERCE SOCIETY

The Commerce Society, established in 2003 under Principal Mr. Matthew Bernard Fernando, aims to help students apply classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios through events, budget management, and networking. The first Commerce Day in 2014, guided by Rev. Fr. Chaminda Wanigasena, featured guests like Professor Hilliary Elmo and musician Mr. Dinesh Subasinghe. The society honors university entrants with the Vaanija Thilaka award and organizes projects like Christmas greeting cards and fundraisers. The 2022 board includes Master in Charge Mr. Dammika Hettiarachchi, President Mas. Dulara Fonseka, and Secretary Mas. Nirmal Mendis, supported by dedicated A/L teachers, fostering student growth and success.

HATTON NATIONAL BANK UNIT

The HNB Bank Unit, established in 2012 under Principal Rev. Fr. Chaminda Wanigasena, aims to instill a saving habit among students. Now a registered school savings unit under the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, it has seen growing interest, especially from primary students. Each year, six Student Bank Managers are appointed to gain valuable banking experience, with some securing careers in the sector. Reopened in 2022 under Rector Rev. Fr. Chrishantha Kumara, it operates under the guidance of Mr. Dhammika Hettiarachchi. Special thanks to Mr. Sujeewa Fernando, Mr. Hettiarachchi, and the Student Bank Managers for their dedication.

SCIENCE SOCIETY

The Science Society, founded on 28th November 1994 by Mrs. Sarojani Perera under Principal Mr. Thilak Rodrigo, aims to foster scientific thinking, creativity, and practical application among students. Its first Science Day was held on October 29, 1998. The society conducts monthly sessions, annual exhibitions, contests, and debates. In 2022, students excelled in competitions like the R.A.C.I. Australian National Chemistry Quiz and the National Science Olympiad. Despite challenges like COVID-19, activities continued successfully. The 2022 board includes Master in Charge Mr. Roy Lakshman, President Master Visitha Delpachitra, and Project Manager Master Nimsara Perera.

ICT SOCIETY

The ICT Society, a dynamic and accomplished group within the College, has significantly contributed to its technological growth. Guided by dedicated teachers like Mrs. Nadeeshani Jayawardhana (2012-2014), Mr. W. Anton Ruwantha Waas (2014-2022), and currently Mrs. Nimesha Viraji Hapuarachchi, the society has thrived. In 2022, students showcased their skills through successes in the SLT Gaming & E-Sports platform, reaching the BCI Codemize finals, and excelling at the XBOTIX event by the University of Ruhuna, reflecting their commitment to technological excellence.

ST JOHN MARY VIANNEY VOCATION CLUB

St. Peter’s College, Gampaha Branch, proudly holds the distinction of producing the highest number of priests among its branch schools. Notable Old Boy Priests include Rev. Fr. Dilan Sankalpa Perera, SJ, Rev. Fr. Sachitha Kelum Jayalath, Rev. Fr. Nuwan Chathuranga Perera, Rev. Fr. Mahima Gunawardane, and Rev. Fr. Thiwanka Jude. Many more are currently in seminaries, aspiring to the priesthood. The Vocation Club, founded in September 2022 under Rev. Fr. Nadeeka Manchanayake’s guidance, aims to nurture vocations, with 54 members from Grades 4–13. Special thanks to Mrs. Sumali Fernando and Miss Prasadi Fernando for their dedicated support.

YCS

The Young Catholic Students’ (YCS) Movement fosters spiritual growth and leadership among students, encouraging them to live out Christian values through prayer, reflection, and service. Through regular meetings and faith-based activities, YCS promotes unity, personal development, and social responsibility. Special thanks to the dedicated teachers in charge for guiding and inspiring students in their faith journey.
